Olympian Iwan Thomas Joins The Squidgy World Record Attempt!

Posted on: 29th September 2010

With the event only days away, the whole of SoreenHQ is buzzing with excitement about the event so when we heard that Iwan Thomas (undoubtedly one of the best 400m runners Britain has ever seen) had signed up for the event, the excitement really came to a head! Iwan (left) will be helping to kick-off proceedings by doing a 2 hour cycle from 5pm! Everyone is looking to see how much energy Iwan can produce so that they have a target to beat. Just think how good it would be to say that you beat an Olympic athlete at a sport!

We also have yet more people challenging themselves to the full and doing some Soreen Mega-Slots at The Velodrome. We now have four people signed up to do the full 24 hours (crazy?!) and one person doing a 12 hour stint! There are several others doing 4 or 6 hour slots so there will be some good competition between those doing the mega-slots! Remember, it is not too late to take the mega-slot challenge. Just e-mail worldrecord@soreen.com and book your slot today!

As Friday comes ever closer, our office have been training as hard as ever to try and produce as much energy, and in turn as much money, as possible for The Christie. Whilst we here at Soreen will be donating 5p per Watt/Hour produced, you can still show your support with a small donation through our JustGiving page (www.justgiving.co.uk/soreen)... We really want to raise as much money to support the great work done by The Christie.

Remember we are still adding to the squidgy playlist on Spotify so if you have any songs to add, just find the Squidgy Energy Playlist and add your favourite tracks. Not got Spotify? Don’t worry, just add a comment with your songs and we can get them uploaded for you.

Squidgy Widget says there is just 2 days to go... if you've not signed up yet get onto www.soreen.com/squidgyenergy and book your place now!
